Importance Of High School Sports

?Many people do not realize the importance of high school sports; let me tell a story. There were two completely different kids that went to the same high school. One of them participated in high school sports from Fall to Spring. This kid kept up with his grades and kept busy with sports and homework. The other kid did not participate in any kind of school sports. The kid who didn’t play any sports went home after school every day, so instead of playing sports or doing homework in the free time available, he had to find something else to keep busy. Having all this free time led trouble. There is no need to go into more depth in the story; the point is that people do not realize that high school sports are a crucial part of being a good student and becoming a successful adult. â€Å"The evidence supporting sports participation for young people is overwhelming†¦ It has the power to combat everything from racism to low self-image, to the high-school drop-out rate† (Ca stle). One of the many benefits of playing high school athletics is that the Student has to sign a code of conduct that will keep the student athlete responsible for his or her actions.â€Å"1) Use or possession of tobacco products. 2) Being present more than 5 minutes at a function where alcohol and/or drugs are being consumed/used or have been consumed or used. 3) Use or possession of intoxicating beverages and illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia. 4) Committing unlawful acts that have or could have resulted in a misdemeanor or higher penalty. 5) Serious and/or repeated violation of school rules. 6) Serious and/or repeated unsportsmanlike conduct. † This is a list of the rules that must be strictly followed in order to participate in a sports team at Nooksack Valley High School. If any of these rules are broken during season the athlete is penalized by being ineligible to play for 60% of the season. If the code is violated during the off-season, the penalty is disqualificatio n for 40% of the season. Athletes that take their sport seriously, and hope to move on to a collegiate level know that missing 40% to 60% percent of a season will hurt their chances of being scouted substantially. The risk taken by breaking the athletic code is not worth losing a chance of a scholarship to continue playing a sport a student loves at a competitive level. The Sumner School District has a great way of explaining the code of conduct to the community. â€Å"This activities code is designed to establish a reasonable, high standard for participants in co-curricular activities that empower our participants to make appropriate decisions, rather than to be punitive and deny access to such activities. Co-curricular activities are a privilege and completely voluntary. Along with this privilege comes the expectation of a higher standard of behavior and conduct.Participants in these activities are considered to be in positions of leadership representing themselves, their families , the team, school, district and community† (Sumner Athletics). This brief blurb from the Sumner Athletics Code of Conduct represents the higher standard athletes, actors, singers, dancers, and all participants of extracurricular activities are held to. Being involved in sports does not only reflect the athlete, but is a representation of the entire student body and staff members. The responsibility of athletes to uphold this good reputation is one of the main reasons student athletes are proven to perform better in school, and stay out of trouble. Being a student athlete in high school does not only keep the student responsible, it also provides physical activity for students who have been sitting in the classroom all day. Not only does physical activity contribute to a healthy body weight and prevention of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, but also shows astounding benefits in academic performance and lowering depression.Penny McCullagh, a psychologist, found in her research that exercise has the ability to work like an anti-depressant. McCullagh states, â€Å"The most common treatments for depression, for example, are psychotherapy or medication. Psychologists have found that exercise is a third successful alternative† (McCullagh). The article states the best results to help depression comes when a combination of exercise and psychotherapy happens together. The physical exercise from sports also helps brain function.â€Å"According to a study done by the Department of Exercise Science at the University of Georgia, even briefly exercising for 20 minutes facilitates information processing and memory functions† (Physical Exercise for Brain Health). Just the exercise alone from sports is already helping with depression, brain functions, or just staying fit and in shape. There are many studies with evidence to support the benefit exercise has in the classroom. â€Å"Researchers at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan tracked the grade s and exercise habits of 266 undergraduates. It was found that students who regularly participate in vigorous physical activity had higher G. P. A. ’s† (Parker-Pope). Regular exercise has a tremendous effect on the brain, especially in the high school years when it is still developing. Along with these benefits, being part of a sports team influences attitudes on and off the court or field. Student athletes are proven to have a stronger sense of leadership, motivation, and work ethic than their peers who do not participate in after school activities. Belonging to a team or club creates a drive in students to succeed in all aspects of life. Many Americans today are suffering from being obese or overweight. According to the American Heart Association, â€Å"23. 9 million children ages 2 to 19 are overweight or obese; 33. 0% of boys and 30. 4% of girls† (Overweight & Obesity – 2013 Statistical Fact Sheet). That means almost two thirds of all the Americans are a t an unhealthy weight. According to Centers for Disease Control, obesity brings in $147 billion in healthcare costs per year. There are many different causes for obesity such as stress, inactivity, and depression. There is one simple solution to decrease the amount of obese adults and children in America. Playing sports helps with all three of the problems. Habits are formed at a young age, so if sports are a part of a lifestyle as a young child, they will most likely be a part of their future. When some people think about exercise, they instantly think boring, tedious, painful workouts in an over packed gym. What most people don’t know is that exercise can be fun! All it takes is the motivation to get off the couch. Exercising with others increases the chance that you will stick with it.Sports teams are the ultimate example of this. When a support system is built in, with the drive to not let your teammates down, the motivation to be physically fit comes naturally. People arg ue that playing sports leaves no time for homework. However, there is a system at Nooksack Valley High School called study table. Study table is an hour long class where any missing homework can be complete before school. This system was made to give extra help to kids that are failing classes while playing sports. Nooksack Valley’s athletic director, Tom Harmon, checks the grades of each student athlete every Sunday. If any students are failing a class a study table is assigned each morning for the entire week. If the student is failing more than one class then they are not allowed to participate in any games or tournaments held that week. The phrase â€Å"student before athlete† is commonly used among coaches and staff members. Being a successful student is far more important than making touchdowns or scoring goals. Student first, athlete second is the only way to ensure students are prepared for higher education or entering the work force after graduation. Some people may argue that high school sports need to be cut due to lack of funding. Personally, I think without the opportunity to participate in sports students will lack the development of very important life skills. From experience, players can say that being a member of a high school sports team has taught them how to work hard for what they want, how to step up and be a leader, and how to communicate with others and be a team player. These skills and personality traits are all things that future employers are looking for when making hiring decisions.Managers know that people who have grown up being involved in sports teams and clubs are trained to work well with others, and have a strong work ethic. Marty Brounstein lists ten qualities of an effective team player as the ability to demonstrate reliability, communicate constructively, listen actively, function as an active participant, share openly and willingly, exhibit flexibility, show commitment, work as a problem solver, and, finally, treat others with respect and support. â€Å"Team players with commitment look beyond their own piece of the work and care about the team's overall work.In the end, their commitment is about winning — not in the sports sense of beating your opponent but about seeing the team succeed and knowing they have contributed to this success. Winning as a team is one of the great motivators of employee performance. Good team players have and show this motivation† (Brounstein). In conclusion, being actively involved in high school sports shows success on and off the court or field as well as in future career choices. Participation in sports teams is not only beneficial while in high school but in all stages of life.Skills learned from coaches and teammates can be applied in meeting new friends in college, at job interviews, and in many other instances. â€Å"We have data indicating sports and other extracurricular activities do better than academic classes in teaching leadershi p, teamwork, time management and other skills crucial for success in the workplace† (Mathews). While some may say that high school athletics need to be cut because the money spent on them could be put to better use, the evidence of many studies proves this statement to be false.Without the opportunity to be a part of a team or club, students lose out on a great learning experience that acts as a foundation for the rest of their lives. The ability to manage being a successful student as well as a good athlete takes a special skill that is developed during the high school years. There needs to be a balance between academic and athletic commitment. A student’s high school career cannot only be based on one or the other. It needs a combination of the two in order for the student to reach full potential.Michael Jordan is one of the most inspiring athletes to kids around the world. He often stems his success back to his experiences with high school sports. I believe it is sto ries like his that demonstrate the importance of being involved in sports teams, and the life lessons that are learned throughout the experience. A famous quote from Jordan states, â€Å"I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. † Importance of High School Sports Many people do not realize the importance of high school sports; let me tell a story. Subculture identity how the tradidiontal costume keeps their own Essay

Subculture identity how the tradidiontal costume keeps their own culture nowadays - Essay Example Hence, a historical back ground of various sub culture identities such as Greeks, Japanese, Arabs, Indians and etc along with their culture costume characteristic is being discussed in this article. Furthermore, it's greatly shedding light on latest outfits of various sub culture identities and presenting several opinions of writers regarding how to keep that traditional culture costume alive in joyful manner. In order to describe how the traditional costumes of Greeks was reminiscent of question arises from the frequent consideration. Basically, the frequent consideration (Vrelli-Zaxou 1994) is that long-established costume is definitely the costume. However, it characterizes the individuality of a farming culture and on the other hand it articulate the connection flanked by an individual and the civilization. Giselis (1974) inscribe that the set of clothes is a representation of the particular crowd and not of its wearer's character which underneath force may be required to match to the mutual strength. It should be noted that it is not simple to differentiate oneself commencing the group of people with a costume (Vrelli-Zaxou 1994), while the civilization itself stimulate the method of communal control and permit forcing a potential outlook modernizer to come back to the array. The major feature of folk set of clothes is to facilitate generally acknowledged by the preponderance (Vrelli -Zaxou 1994). Moreover, it cannot fail to notice the information to facilitate the remark as costume. which is a strange remark pro the Greek, is derivative since the English remark 'costume' and its doublet 'custom', which into their twirls are source of Latin consuetude 'habit' Each and every from the above is resultant from the information that each consign possess its own costume. The ordinary difference by more than a few writers (e.g. Roubis 1995) links the set of clothes of the residents of hilly regions and those existing on the plains, and as well as among the outfits of the islanders and the residents of mainland, is no longer applicable. Since study has shown that a century before rural communities illustrated themselves from others with a quality costume (Hatzimichali 1925). In addition, traditional civilization a costume might have contained a variety of utilities. Solitary of its utility was to replicate the modification of the exertion time and as well as the holiday plus the days of time off. They fluctuate morphologically as distant as the excellence and beautification is Apprehensive (Kyriakidou-Nestoros 1989). The set of clothes for daily practice is very realistic in its dim colors and with no at all sewing and attractive elements. On the other hand, joyful clothing is traditionally wealthy in colors and decoration. The joyful costume is extensively worn in official dancing and at carnivals through out the entire Greece. Furthermore, there are certainly some areas where a unique and special set of clothes is worn for special occasions. It should be noted that in the rural community of Nesting, Arcadias (Vrelli-Zaxou 1994) males put on the tsipianitiko shirt where as women put on asprofoustano, a definite type of pallid dress, in Sirako, Paros (Dimas 1993) firm pastoral shoes are worn out on festive and

Smoking in Public Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1

Smoking in Public - Essay Example This paper tells that even though banning public smoking risks edging out restaurant and bar operators from business, it remains a viable option to curbing the problem. Second-hand smoke has the potential of causing cancer. Considered as a cancer-causing agent, ACS categorizes it as a known human carcinogen. The smoke from tobacco is said to contain over 7,000 chemical compounds, 250 of which are known to be harmful and more than 69 said to cause cancer (Schneider 201). It has been specifically linked to lung cancer. Other than cancer, second-hand smoke has been noted to cause other diseases. Notably, this behavior propagates heart disease. Thus, public smoking makes innocent people incur avoidable medical expenses and the associated psychological trauma having a loved one suffer from these diseases. It strains public resources that would have otherwise been used to adequately cater for other illnesses. Ultimately, it causes the death of many loved ones leaving many people distraught and perhaps without any other source of income. American Cancer Society documents an estimated 3,400 deaths and another 46,000 deaths related to lung cancer and heart disease respectively resulting from the exposure of adults to second-hand smoke. Who would want to be involuntarily subjected to such diseases that cause premature deaths? I consider those with the behavior of public smoking as murderers who swiftly kill innocent members of the public with their smoke. Just like murder is acceptable behavior, public smoking is also unacceptable. Public smoking is an inhumane behavior that subjects even children to a harsh environment. As people smoke in public, even children get exposed to the second-hand smoke without their knowledge. ACS documents a set of many deadly diseases that could result from children being exposed to second-hand smoke including leukemia and throat (pharynx), voice box (throlarynx), bladder, brain, stomach, breast and rectum cancers. Since childhood is a stag e of development where humans learn by copying, these children could also acquire smoking habits, particularly public smoking tendencies. Wakefield et al. (322) observe that childhood exposure to environmental tobacco smoke increases tolerance of such children to tobacco smoke and consequently sensitize such children to adopt active smoking in their teenage by reducing first cigarette noxious deterrence. Such children grow up to be established smokers in their teenage and adulthood. With the World Health Organization, the global leader in health matters, acknowledging the devastating economic costs of smoking, public smoking, therefore, condemns such children to a future of a devastated financial life. It could also lead to the acquisition of secondary antisocial behaviors such as theft. Therefore, public smoking is antisocial behavior that imparts antisocial behavior on children. It risks the life of the future generation, not only literally, but also behaviorally. With all these n egative effects of public smoking, banning the behavior would be beneficial to the society in general.

Policy-making in the Federal System Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Policy-making in the Federal System - Essay Example The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare, was signed into law by President Obama in March 23, 2010 and is considered to be a major overhaul in the U.S healthcare since 1965. This paper explores how Obamacare works, the program’s pros and cons, if it is achieving its objectives and federalism issues raised by the program. Summary of the History of Obamacare The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was introduced as a bill in 2009 during 111th Congress session and passed on November 7, 2009. John Dingell of Michigan, who was also the House Dean, sponsored the bill. President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law on March 31, 2010 (Tate, 2012). The ACA is aimed expanding insurance access to approximately 32 million uninsured Americans, emphasizing prevention and wellness, increasing consumer protections, improving quality and system performance, increasing the workforce in health care and curbing escalating cost of health ca re in the United States (Tate, 2012). The individual mandate, which is a major component of the ACA, is perceived by many to be unconstitutional. The individual mandate of the ACA â€Å"requires millions of Americans to purchase health insurance from a private company for the rest of their lives or face annual penalties† (Sekulow, 2012, Para 10). ... The Constitution of the United States protects the liberty of the citizens (Benedict, 2006). Historically, the ACA presents the very first incident where the U.S Congress mandated American citizens to buy a private company product. According to Sekulow (2012), under the Commerce Clause, the Congress has no jurisdiction to compel any individual to purchase any product from a private company. Therefore, the mandated ACA has raised issues of â€Å"federalism† because the provisions of the Act are deemed unconstitutional. The Main Pros and Cons of Obamacare Despite the fact that the Obamacare has been under intense criticism, it comes with numerous benefits, particularly for low and middle income earners. However, it also has some cons, but these should not be the cause for its rejection as it was purely made out of good intent for Americans. Pros of Obamacare Increased accessibility to affordable health care insurance to millions of uninsured Americans More than half of uninsured individuals will obtain free or low cost health insurance via state Health Insurance Marketplace. Expansion of CHIP to cover a maximum of 9 million children Expansion of Medicaid to 15.9 million females, males and children who are 138 percent below poverty line Small businesses stand the chance benefit from tax credits of up to 50 percent of health insurance costs on their employees Obamacare curbs high cost of health care Cons of Obamacare Making insurance available and affordable to millions of uninsured individuals involves increase in taxes, especially for high-income earners. Individual mandate demands that every American must obtain health coverage by January 2014. The expansion of Medicaid is done using Federal

Smith & Ricardo vs. Malthus, Bentham, Senior, J.S. Mill and Say Essay - 2

Smith & Ricardo vs. Malthus, Bentham, Senior, J.S. Mill and Say - Essay Example Both theories assumed that there was full employment in a country (Smith, 35). Malthus has vehemently opposed Ricardo’s doctrine on political economics stating that it was impossible for effective demand to incur a deficiency. However, Malthus did not quantify his argument by explaining how effective demand could be in excess or deficient. This aspect of invalid quantification of the argument resulted in anonymous adherence to Ricardo’s doctrine by statesmen, city, and the academic world. The effective demand which was an idea that Malthus tried to nature, vanished into thin air since its discussion ceased and it was also ceased to exist in the city’s literature (Malthus, 10). Jeremy Bentham became the leading theorist in Anglo-American in the field of philosophy of law. James Mill was Benthans student and collaborator. He held an absolutely different opinion on the monetary economy in comparison to Ricardo’s ideas. He was absolutely aware of the relevance of saving that is forcefully imposed on consumer prosperity, saving and investment relationship. The monetary view was based on the fundamental concepts employed in his theory of utilitarian decision making. His work is valued and considered as a leeway to modern economics. The utilitarian concept stated that nature has placed human beings under the sovereign governance of either pain or pleasure and on the other hand the measure of wrong and right. These factors in their entirety govern mankind in whatever he thinks, says or does (Bentham, 21).

Analysis of Interpersonal Relationship Development Essay

Analysis of Interpersonal Relationship Development - Essay Example to know each other, through first â€Å"forming an impression of each other, based on the outward look or perceived character†, and gaining interest in them (Beebe, Susan and Mark, 292) Acquaintance: It was the next stage after the pre-interaction, where we â€Å"began to form a connection.† It entailed approaching my partner, passing greetings and enquiring basic information like names (292). Exploration: This is the next stage we went through, where we started â€Å"disclosing self information and taking more interests in engaging each other, at a more personal level† (Beebe, Susan and Mark, 292). Intimacy: The state at which the relationship â€Å"blossomed to intimacy and communication became more personalized, where we talked about anything and everything.† It was marked by indulgence in intimate activities (Beebe, Susan and Mark, 293). Turning point: The relationship then reached a casual turning point, which is â€Å"the event that moves the partners apart† (293), when I realized that my partner had lied to me about status, claiming to have been single, yet there already was a previous engagement. The relationship started at the awareness stage where we noticed each other and formed an impression based on the physical outlook. This was followed by the acquaintance stage where we embarked on knowing each other more personally. Then followed the exploration stage, where we self-disclosed information to each other, and then jumped to the intensification and intimacy stages, both of which occurred simultaneously and the intimacy stage overshadowed the intensification stage through personalized communication and discussing anything and everything. The relationship then entered the stagnation stage, after realizing that my partner had lied to me, and eventually separation occurred, where the personal interaction was terminated completely. Interpersonal relationships are formed through a process that entails different stages, where one stage leads to the other.

Social Networking Gone Bad Essay Example for Free

Social Networking Gone Bad Essay Have you even thought about how different society would be without social networking web sites? Many of the social networking web sites today play a huge role with the way we interact with one another in our everyday lives, which include most relationships. Using a social networking web site has many negative effects on relationship. Building insecurity, advertising personal information, and building social media moods are some of the many ways relationship are negatively impacted. First and foremost, many people are building up insecurities in their relationships due to these social networking web sites. The thought of what another person is doing on these web sites or who they are interacting with are affecting the trust bond between relationships which are causing the insecurities. For example, if a couple have had pervious issues with one person going behind another’s and speaking to their ex or person of opposite sex, then the thought of being easily connected with people through these sites can really build up the insecurity in the other persons mind and make them think that their partner is being unfaithful. Since it is so easy for someone to go on their phones and open the internet and begin speaking to people half way around the world. Not only can this destroy a relationship but it can also be unhealthy, causing anxiety and depression. The web being a public place, may not be the best place to be advertising personal information such as phone number, email address, or even photos. Some spouses and significant other may become bothered by the information streamed onto these sites and could possibly anger the person and potentially ruin a relationship. Have a phone number or email address on the sites can cause a person from the opposite sex or even their ex to try and get in contact with them, and that right there can really cause some major issues in someone’s relationship. It could even lead to someone getting harmed physically out of anger, when people out their relationships and personal life on the internet, nothing is secure nor private. Therefore eople are allowing others to have access in their relationship, by making it easier for people to express their opinion or do malicious things to sabotage it Not only can this destruct a love relationship but inappropriate information can ruin a relationship with someones job or business. In addition, as part of any social network experience, becoming networked and involved with each other is what keeps these sites going. Unfortunately, â€Å"a downside of social media relationships is that we’re potentially subject to emotional contagion effects, as illustrated in research by John Cacioppo, a researcher at the University of Chicago†(Jain, Dr.  R, 2010). In other words people with bad thoughts, ideas, or moods can transmit them to other people without ever having any face to face contact with the person. So basically if you have been following someone on one of these social networks and every time you are logged on, that certain someone is just posting negative comments and ideas, chances are that the very person reading this over and over again will begin to adapt these negative thoughts and ideas and then reflect a negative mood towards other people in their own real life, and the people they love. Which ultimately begin to take a toll on a relationship, because if one person is constantly upset the other is going to look at themselves first and feel like they are not wanted anymore. Even though social networking web sites might seem like the most amazing gift of technology, its adverse impact can ruin your strongest relationship and at the end leave you with countless regrets. Online friends, self-centered attention-seeking, short attention spans, distraction, and loss of privacy are what these social networks web sites engage you in, and not having control of it can have a negative impact on you and on your relationships. So be for you consider signing up for one of these social networks web sites or signing back on to an existing account, ask yourself if you are ready to deal with the negative effects the these sites have to offer. Also keep in mind there may be a possibility of ruining any types of relationships you are currently in or at least have an effect on them.

Each of every family will have the different buying behavior in their families. And yet sometimes the people who decide on the buying process and playing the main role while purchasing the products will influenced by other factors also. I had already interviewed 3 different families that having the different buying behavior in the family. 3.1 First Family The first family that I interviewed is a Chinese traditional thinking family. In this family, man will always be the main character in making decisions and everything. So, the father plays the main role on the buying decision. The other family members will just follow the instruction from the father. In the other hand, the mother is an ordinary housewife and she listened and obeyed to her husband. Meanwhile, the father will be the main income supporter in the family and in fact he has the power to make the decision for purchasing. However, some of the decision will not agree with the other family members but the father will be the final decider. 3.1.1 Influence in Culture Male is the main character in the first family. Everything should be decided by the father who majority earn and spend in the family. The culture of this family is discriminating the decision that made by the feminine. In the Chinese thinking, man always plays the main role. However, some of the decision may not be agreed by the other family members but the father has the power to influence the others to agree with him. This is because of their family culture is the man who decides and making decision. Although they do not agree but they just have to blindly follow because this is the culture in the family. 3.1.2 Influence in Demographic One of the factors that influence the other family members to adopt and accept the decision made by father in the Chinese traditional thinking family is demographic. Demographic can categories to age, gender, income and so on. The father mainly is the first person who supports the family with his income. His wife and his children have no power to control the usage of the income. The father himself has more power to control his income rather than other family members. So, he has the final buying decision to purchase compare to the family members which were incapable in gaining income ability. Besides that, the father is the eldest in the family. All of the family members have to pay respect on his decision because of his age. They respect the experience that he had and they willing to follow what he decided for them. They will show loyalty and trust to the fatherà ¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢s decision. 3.1.3 Influence in Social Status On the other hand, father is an important social status in a family. Usually the children will follow what the father plan for them. They respect him because he is the father and the head of the family. He should not be giving the wrong decision to them and yet he always had to lead the family members to the right way. So, as for the practice, the family members had relied and believed on him. 3.2 Second Family The second family that I interviewed is a family which is the mother being the main role of buying decision. Both of the parents in this family are working parents. The mother is the one who earn more than the father. She is doing the final decision when the family wants to purchase a product. She is a strong view woman whom can made accurate decisions. And because by the word saying that women were gifted in the nature of comparing and strong in bargaining prices, she plays a very important role in the family. This is different and a bit of modern family compare to the first family. 3.2.1 Influence in Culture The character of mother in this family is stronger than the father because she is the one who playing the main role in buying process. She will be planning everything since the child was born. This is the one of the culture that being practice in this family. The father is giving the rights and authorities to his wife to decide everything for the family. The father, in this family rather not very well in planning and making decision on the products that they want to purchase, will passed the final decision to his wife. This culture is practice ever since the family was being formed. The children already being get use of this culture, and so they will just have to adopt it. 3.2.2 Influence in Demographic The mother in the second family that I interviewed worked as an assistant manager in the bank. Her monthly income is much more than the father. So, she always has the right to decide what to purchase. The children have no ability to purchase without the money from the mother. So, they will just have to accept what the mother bought for them. 3.2.3 Influence in Social Status The mother which holds a high education background compare to the father in the second family, her social status is higher than the father in fact she always will be consulting her children about their future plan, like selecting university to further off, what courses they should take. The children would like to follow and agree with her because she is having the high social status in the society. Besides that, she is the strong view mother in the family. The children would like to listen to mother because mother has the important position in the children heart. From the baby till adult, mother paying more concern to the children. So, they show the respective to the mother. 3.3 Third Family The third Family that I interviewed is the family who has the retirement parents. The son in the family will be the main role on the buying decision. The son is an adult worker who already worked in the society more than 10 years and he is the only son in the family. His parents are the baby boomers who are already retired long time. He is the only economy pillar which majority supporting the family. All the decision will be made by him because his parents are low education and retired old folks. 3.3.1 Influence in Demographic This factor is same with the first and the second families. The income factors influence the decision that make by the main role. The retired parents have no ability to purchase and the money is given by their son. The son has the right to decide what to purchase because he has the income earning. Age also is one of the factors that influence the retired parents follow the decision that make by the son. They think they already in the old generation and know nothing compare to the son so they just agree with him. 3.3.2 Influence in Social Status The retired parents were sending their son to the high education and they know their son have the high education. They believed that the knowledge of their child can make perfect decision. Additional they have got no other to depend on, and the only option they can only trust on their one and only child. From the above we can find three various families which show us different people playing the main role has a different buying decision.
